2022 Preview
Blacksands Entertainment, owned and operated by Geiszel and Manuel Godoy, started off the new year with an appearance on Shark Tank where they secured a 500,000 dollar investment from Mark Cuban and Kevin Hart. Blacksands is partnered with Teunis de Raat, whose credits include Pixar’s Mater’s Tall Tales and the Willoughby’s to produce Blacksands, the anime, based on the comic Blacksands: The Seven Kingdoms. Like Blacksands 2022 will be a big year for my studio, Turtledust Media. We begin the year with a mentorship meeting with Issa Rae, and a redesigned website. Starting in February we will resume live streaming, releasing weekly Black animation news segments and teaching online workshops. We will also have opportunities for animators to work on Turtledust Media’s ongoing projects. As usual you can support us by liking, sharing, and subscribing.
