Black Women Animate founded by Taylor Shaw in collaboration with JLove Calderon is harnessing the creative voice of black women animators to produce original content and drive productions for top animation studios.
Since 2018 BWA has hosted the Black Women Animate Boot Camp to provide resource to pre-professional and professional black women, women of color, and non-binary creatives.
The boot camp started as a one day event and has grown to a 2 day conference along with the Black in Animation Awards Show, where they honor Black animation trailblazers and Cultural Innovators.
